An awesome way to kick start your week! This quick 45-minute ballet barre class never stops moving! The classes incorporate a classic ballet barre, hence the name, and use classic dance moves such as plies, alongside static stretches. All these moves and barre sequences are accompanied by the lovely music of our gifted pianists. A full body workout...while improving your ballet technique.
No previous training is required for this beginner ballet. This class follows a traditional ballet class format, starting at the barre focusing on posture, positions then continuing with stretching and strengthening exercises. Big center movement and classic traveling steps are added as the class progresses.
These classes are geared towards students who have a good general understanding of ballet technique and who are competent. This class also follows a traditional ballet class format, starting at the barre and continuing through a complete class including hops. Previous ballet experience is recommended.
Our Contemporary teachers are all different, but expect a focus on big movements while maintaining fluidity and focusing your mind to improve your body's response. This dance genre is often done in bare feet or socks.

Lyrical jazz is a personal expression to music. It incorporates elements of technique and traditional jazz but is much more expressive. Some aspects of lyrical dance that are important are the quality of breath and the fluidity of movement.

Pilates isn't just for fitness fanatics. It is an accessible way to build strength and better your posture as well as improve your balance and flexibility. This is a low impact class with good energy, perfect for bettering our general fitness and overall well-being.
At the beginning of each circuit class, the teacher will demonstrate all the exercises to the group. After this, a timer will be set for a certain duration and each time the stopwatch beeps everyone will circulate to the next post. A fun way to get yourself moving and discover new exercises.
We believe that this body sculpting class is a great compliment to all other physical activities you practice. In this class you will strengthen your muscles and improve your endurance. This class is taught by using basic body strengthening props such as weights, mats, exercise bands etc. Join this class to feel good about yourself, strong and powerful.
Yoga is a great way to let the stresses of your day melt off of you and drip onto your mat. This one-hour lesson will not only help reduce stress but also strengthen muscles and stretch your body while increasing awareness of your breath.
Our Safe ©️ Barre specialist, Dévi Selly, teaches her class every second Tuesday of the month. Attend this class to increase body awareness and to build strength for a regular ballet class.

About the teacher:
Devi Selly is a soloist with Ballett Theater Basel and a SAFE® FLOOR and SAFE® BARRE coach certified by Maison Munz. SAFE® is a method created by Alexandre Munz, it is based on spherical and gentle movements. These movements will deeply take care of your fascias and your spine. You will come out of these sessions with an improved mobility and a palpable state of calm. These courses are for all bodies.
The Saturday Workshop Series will take place one Saturday afternoon a month and will be taught by our outstanding guest teachers. The dance style will be completely dependent on what our guest teacher feels most comfortable with teaching.
This class encourages parents with smaller children of 2-4 years of age to explore movement and dance together, while being surrounded by music and rhythm.

Teamwork is our number one focus for all our BAC kids dance classes.This class allows for kids to get a feel for musicality and an ear for rhythm while moving through the dance floor.
This class is geared towards 10 - 13-year old’s that want to dance with like-minded young teens. We encourage working as a team through creation, coordination and musicality.
BAC Kids is a new dance program for children at the Braswell Arts Center. The weekly classes focus on improving self-discipline and social skills in a supportive setting, while also working on the connection between body and mind. Led by the Juilliard School graduate and Ballet Basel soloist Armando Braswell and his team of high-quality artists, the children are exposed to a unique artistic mentor experience that motivates them to focus on their commitment and personal performance through quality training. In collaboration with sponsors and foundations, we are proud to support underprivileged children by offering financial aid to our BAC Kids program.
The tumbling class is a perfect outlet for your child to put their energy into. The class will begin with a ten minute stretching and warm up series and then move on to head stands, handstands and so on. This is a very playful lesson and the classes will always end with a five minute fun game or test.
Our art staff inspire the children to unleash their creative sides and to design colorful works of art. We want the children to be happy with what they create and to become comfortable with expressing themselves. Each Wednesday afternoon we turn the BAC into an art studio and open our doors to young artists.
During a mindfulness session, children will learn to pay attention to what is around them using their 5 senses. They will soon discover that their breath can help them regulate strong emotions and will learn tips and techniques to manage stress.
