Thibaut was born in Paris and moved to the United States at a young age. He was classically trained at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School of the American Ballet Theater in New York City.
He joined Ballet BC in Vancouver, Canada and toured nationally and internationally, performing works by acclaimed choreographers like William Forsythe, Jacopo Godani, Gustavo Ramirez Sansano and Medhi Walerski.
In 2014 he relocated to Los Angeles to join Ate9 Dance Company under the direction of Danielle Agami, with whom he developed his understanding of Gaga, Ohad Naharin’s movement research.
Invited to join the Batsheva Ensemble, he moved to Israel and performed Naharin’s most renowned works and toured extensively.
In Tel Aviv he initiated his first choreographic venture "H H H (Hand, Heart, and Head)". Since its premiere, it was awarded First Place at Machol Shalem International Choreography Competition in Jerusalem as well as the Critics Prize in the 33rd edition of the Hannover International Choreography Competition of 2019.
Thibaut is currently continuing his work as a choreographer and freelance dancer in Paris. He is a certified teacher of Gaga, teaching most notably at the Paris Opera Ballet.
We are excited to bring some of the best teachers from around the world to Basel this season and hope you’ll join us! While our regular classes are only available to our members, we believe that it is important to share these amazing guest teachers and their unique teaching styles with the entire community. This means ALL of our workshops, pop-up classes and teaching residencies are open to the public!
